Faces

Reverend Rhetta Morgan

Nepal_DCZ3899.JPG

Didn’t know you,

so how could I

miss your face?

There’s a

covering

hovering

over a mirror

revealing

you-ness to

me-ness.

Half sadness

searches the

moment for

some form of

recognition.

Alas, the moment

loses its way,

it’s nerve:

I am unmet.

Longing for

time rich with

texture, color,

complexity,

paradox

and

your face,

your full face.

Wanting,

having to

wait till

pestilence

ends and

merry comes

a ragged

here after

looking for a

courageous lining.
